With London Fashion Week just around the corner, we felt the time was appropriate to share our own perspective of trends and relationships between interior design and the fashion industry. The latest collections have influenced the design world for many years with design icons such as Armani and Karl Lagerfeld venturing into the world of hotels has also highlighted the synergy between couture fashion and luxury interior design.

 

Exploring the link between fashion and interior design is one that has been discussed recently in the media, however one that isn’t always too obvious.

They are both a way of expressing personal, political and cultural identity. How we want the world to perceive us is reflected in the houses we live in, the clothes we wear and the places we stay.

 

Not only do the two industries harbour the same values, they are central to setting future trends as well as providing inspiration to other design disciplines.

The undeniable visual influence of high-end fashion to luxury interiors has inspired Fox Linton Associates on a number of projects over the years and here we share with you a number of images that are both engaging and relevant to our company design ethos.

 

 

AN ENGLISH GARDEN

Who can ever look at an English garden and accuse this island race of being reserved? This gentle passion which quietly undulates the land creating soft and magical spaces filled with light and scent, has long been the envy of the world, courting sighs and covetous glances.

Our unique climate at once both the enemy and friend of the gardener provides an ever-changing palette that can range from a subtle vista of green to shockwaves of colour but always bearing that ethereal quality that can be found nowhere else.

This particular year has seen the worst of weather evolving into that most rare and coveted of things - an English summer. Where else could one be on these most balmy and fragrant of evenings but in an English garden.

 

 

 

 

 

HUMIDORS

The Humidor, Wellesley Hotel

The popularity of cigar smoking has never been greater and is gaining momentum with a strong following of cigar aficionados searching for the ultimate smoking venue. Whilst Luxury hotels search for new unique selling points to enhance their brands, it appears that humidors and smoking terraces may well become essential additions for luxury hotel brands.

The requirement of exacting environmental conditions to preserve the cigars is as important as the actual collection. With cigars such as limited edition Behikes to vintage Havana's being highly sought after by collectors, the return on investment is substantial and provide real added value if designed with the correct knowledge and implementation.

Following on from Fox Linton Associates’ recent involvement and design of the largest hotel humidor, located within The Wellesley, London. We have put together a collection of images that inspired our design narrative and to celebrate the new dawn of the humidor.
